Marriage of Simon LereauIle d'Orléans, 1655Tuesday morning, November 27 1655, with their family and friends, Simon Lereau and Suzanne Jaroussel went to a small chapel built by another colonist, Gabriel Gosselin near his house, on a piece of land that he had received from the fief of Beaulieu, near the western extremity of l'Ile d'Orléans. Reverend Father René Menard, jesuit, was waiting for them for the marriage ceremony.In that chapel, the marriage of Simon Lereau and Suzanne Jaroussel was celebrated, as described in the following document:
